Zambia Beats Sudan Qualifies To Group Stages
Zambia’s Chipolopolo have beaten Sudan in an encounter at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium after winning the tie 3-0 on aggregate.
After Kickoff Zambia was doing most of the attacking while Sudan tagged along and defended. In the 10th minute Zambia had a chance to score but Sudan cleared the Danger.
In an attempt to score in the 30th minute Musonda tried the Sudanese goalkeeper but his shot was saved by the goalkeeper. And in the 39th minute a free kick was awarded to Sudan, for Mbesuma’s foul on the Sudan goalkeeper’s arm. Also in the 41th minute Sudan was awarded another free kick.
As the tables changed in the 43rd minute Zambia was awarded a free kick in a promising position but a shot by Musonda went over the bar. The first half ended with 1 minute added time and the Scores were Zambia 0-0Sudan.
Referee blows whistle for the second half and the match kicks off. Sudan gets a free kick in a promising position in the 52nd minute. After 54 minutes Katema tries a long-range shot, but to no avail it goes wide off. And finally in the 60th minute Musonda brilliantly secures a goal for Zambia, pouncing on a rebound from the crossbar, wele!! It’s a goal, chants the mesmerized Zambia crowd.
Sudan tries to make a come back but nothing of significance happens. In the 72nd minute a free kick is awarded to Sudan in a great position but like the previous times, they blew it.
After 81 minutes of play, wele!!!! It’s a goal, Kalenga doubles Zambia’s lead with a beautifully taken goal. Another corner kick awarded to Zambia in the 86th minute but nothing amazing happened. Referee blows whistle and the match is officially over making it Zambia 2- 0 Sudan.
