Stick to campaign promises, Sinda council chair advises councillors

SINDA district council chairperson Michael Phiri has advised civic leaders not disappoint the people that voted for them but instead stick to the promises made during campaigns that they will be there for the people.
Phiri said in an interview that councilors should work to deliver development to the people.
“It’s so bad if we have councillors who seem to be weak and lazy…It’s not the council that voted for them, it’s the community and they should ensure they work so hard to impress the community,” said Phiri. “They should always be alert to what is happening in their areas but if they are dull, truly the people will see that their representatives are not doing fine. Let’s work hard and provide a smile on our people’s faces with our services.”
