PF Overspends On Campaigning Materials
The ruling PF has hired ten helicopters and is earmarked to distribute 8 million units of party regalia over the next few days.
According to information obtained from the PF Secretariat, the party will has already dispatched four 4×4 campaign vehicles to each of the 155 constituencies.
Each ward has received two motorbikes and ten bicycles while each constituency has 5 volumes of development documentaries explaining national, provincial and constituency successes and future plans.
About 20 billboards have been dispatched to each constituency with 10,000 posters, 50,000 fliers and 5000 stickers which will be going up in the next few days.
The party says it will also deploy a vigorous door to door strategy using 300 foot soldiers in each constituency who will be trained and fully equipped with campign materials.
The party will launch its heightened campaigns start week ad is targeting to have at least ten major rallies every day with each province having a major rally every day.
There have been some concerns from some quarters that the PF campaigns have appeared lukewarm with President Edgar Lungu only having appeared at three campaign events.
This has been at the backdrop that his closest rival UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema has been on a non-stop campaign tour since launching his campaign at Kitwe’s Freedom Park on May 21st 2016.
