PF Instructs Kasama Police To Summon GBM
Police in Kasama this morning summoned opposition UPND Vice President for Administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba for questioning.
Mr. Mwamba confirmed receiving the police summon.
“This morning, I have had the pleasure to receive guests at my house from the Zambia Police Force in Kasama with instructions from Edgar Lungu to arrest me.
This has obviously been necessitated by the victory of the UPND in yesterday’s Ward By elections in Bululu Ward of Kasama Central Constituency. A feat they did not expect and an indication that the heat is on and more will fall our way. They have now left a call out for me to report to the police at 11:30 hours this morning for possible arrest on unknown charges. However, be mindful that I have gone through such intimidation with Michael Sata when we were in opposition, so this is not so much of a challenge to me. For now I shall concentrate my efforts to win Kasama Central Constituency and the tripartite elections of 2016,” Mr. Mwamba said.
He added that nothing will stop UPND from forming the next Government.
And UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema expressed sadness at the summoning of Mr. Mwamba.
“Our Vice-President Administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has been summoned to Kasama Police Station for questioning on some unknown offences. Coincidentally, the summoning comes at a time Edgar Lungu yesterday issued instructions to arrest him, FDD leader Edith Nawakwi, and Chongwe PF MP Silvia Masebo,” Mr. Hakainde said.
