Mutembo Nchito Tribunal Resumes.
THE tribunal meant to probe suspended Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mutembo Nchito of his alleged professional misconduct resumes sitting in camera today.
The tribunal will be sitting at plot number 19, Tito Road, Rhodes Park.
Yesterday workers were preparing the venue in readiness for the sittings.
The tribunal was constituted last year to probe Mutembo of his alleged professional misconduct.
The resumption of sittings follows the Supreme Court ruling delivered on February 10, which allowed the state’s appeal against Lusaka High Court judge Mubanga Kondolo’s decision to grant Mutembo leave to commence judicial review against the tribunal’s insistence to probe him in camera, among other issues.
In her ruling, chief Justice Ireen Mambilima, who sat with justices Mumba Malila and Evans Hamaundu, allowed the appeal, saying there was merit in it.
Former Supreme Court judge Annel Silungwe is chairing the tribunal while two other former chief justices Matthew Ngulube and Ernest Sakala are part of the judges’ panel.
