Kambwili Says He Found Out Via Social Media That He Got fired.
PRESIDENT Lungu has with immediate effect dismissed Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Chishimba Kambwili and replaced him with Kalulushi member of Parliament ( MP) Kampamba Mulenga.
This is according to a statement issued yesterday by special assistant to the President for press and public relations Amos Chanda.
The President encouraged Ms Kampamba to serve diligently and with high levels of integrity as she takes up this important role as Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services.
The President is confident that the added attributes of youth and female gender will spur the minister to work even harder to promote the cause of women and youth in decision-making.
Ms Mulenga previously served as Kalulushi district commissioner before she entered active politics.
She becomes the ninth female appointed to Cabinet.
And Dr Kambwili said he is yet to receive his letter from State House and that he only learnt of his dismissal through online media.
He , however, thanked President Lungu for according him an opportunity to serve in his administration as a Cabinet minister.
“ I am not the appointing authority, the President appoints and disappoints. He appointed me and he has disappointed me if at all it is true because I have not received anything as I am on the Copperbelt,” Dr Kambwili said.
The former minister pledged his allegiance to the Patriotic Front (PF) despite his dismissal.
“ I am PF and I will die PF,” MULENGA Dr Kambwili said.
