Kachanana Goes Against GBM’s Son In Court.

Locally acclaimed musician Kachanana yesterday in a testament yesterday narrated to the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court on how she was assaulted by Godfrey Mwamba’s (GBM) son, Peter.

Kachanana Simate, 32, narrated to Lusaka magistrate, Jennifer Bwalya that she went to Peter Mwamba’s house to demand payment of a K57, 000 debt which he owed her.

Peter, 30, a businessman, is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Ms. Simate explained that she approached Mwamba with intent to obtain her money because other people she owed were pressuring her. She was in the company of one of her creditors and a friend when they got to Mwamba’s house in Avondale and that he ushered them into his house.

Ms. Simate said Mwamba lost his temper when asked when the sum would be repaid.

“I followed Mwamba to his home… He got angry with me when I called him a liar. He asked me if I knew who he was and what he could do to me,” she said.

Words were then exchanged and Mwamba ferociously pounced on Ms. Simate and struck her face and she lifelessly fell to the ground and bled profusely from the mouth and nose.

Ms. Simate later reported the matter to Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Police Station where she obtained a medical report but the case was transferred to Woodlands Police Station.

Peter Mwamba since then has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The trial is still in process.
