Fred M’membe Arrested For Trying To Access The Post Newspaper Offices
Editor-in-chief and owner of The Post, Fred M’membe has been arrested for attempting to access The Post offices.
It is reported that Fred Mmembe went to the The Post’s premises in the night and attempted to take over and begin operations.
Sources close to M’membe and team said that on Monday, Mr. M’membe through his lawyer, Mutembo Nchito obtained an ex-parte order from the Revenue Tribunal.
The Order stipulated among other things that ZRA should return the assets and allow the operations of The Post to resume.
Fred M’membe with his lawyer Mutembo Nchito, then began to visit ZRA directors demanding that they hand over the keys to his premises.
He later went to The Post premises with some of his staff daring the Police and demanding that they leave “his premises” since the “Court” had granted him the stay.
It’s at this point that the Police picked him up for trespassing after midnight.
He has been detained with his wife, Mutinta and Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Joseph Mwenda and charged with conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
