Dora Siliya Gets Energy and Water Development Minister Post.
Patriotic Front Petauke Central Member of Parliament Dora Siliya has been appointed as Energy and Water Development Minister by President Edgar Lungu.
Mwebantu reported that Siliya had urged Zambians to be peace loving and ensure they sort out the crisis that is being faced in some sectors collectively.
“My family and I are deeply humbled by the confidence by the Head of State in giving me this opportunity to serve the Zambian people.
We are peace loving citizens and with our collective efforts, we will ensure we attend to the problems facing the energy sector,” Siliya said.
Dora Siliya first started out as a broadcaster with the Zambian National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) and after that she steadily worked her way through the ranks of Zambian politics. Dora Siliya is also a former MMD Spokesperson who once served as Transport and Communications Minister before she was transferred to the Ministry of Education.
However, many Zambians on social media have condemned President Lungu for appointing and adopting Dora Siliya because to many she is regarded as one of the people that were in the forefront to sale Zamtel to Lapgreen, a move that most Zambians did not appreciate.
