Board For The Construction Of The National House Of Prayer Appointed
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has appointed members of the advisory board, fundraising and technical committee to spearhead the construction of the National House of Prayer.
Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska in a statement in Lusaka yesterday stated that the appointment of the 12 members of the advisory board followed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the National House of Prayer by President Lungu on October 25, 2015.
“His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia has appointed members of the advisory board, fundraising and technical committee to spearhead the construction of the National House of Prayer,” Dr Msiska stated.
He stated that the twelve members of the advisory board are Reverend Pukuta Mwanza of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ), Father Charles Chilinda of the Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC), Father Robert Sihubwa of the Council of Churches in Zambia and Bishop Dr. Apostle Peter Ndhlovu, who is the Bible Gospel Church in Africa (BIGOCA) overseer.
Others include Bishop Dr. Joshua Banda of the Northmead Assemblies of God, Reverend Akushanga Muyenga from Praise Christian Centre, Reverend Mpundu Mutale and Apostle Elizabeth Alberts Chishimba from God of All Dominions.
“The rest are Brigadier General Bishop Vincent Mwenya, Chaplain General of the defence forces, Apostle Bishop Dr Timothy Kazembe of Naiboth church, Dr Edwin Zulu from the Reformed Church in Zambia (RCZ) and Reverend Lubinda Matongo Mukelebai of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ),” Dr Msiska stated.
He stated that President Lungu had also appointed 10 members of the fundraising subcommittee whose core business was mobilization of resources for the construction of the National House of Prayer.
Dr Msiska stated that the members are Samuel Kalengo, Luwabelwa Luwabelwa, Dr Liya Mutale, Bishop David Nama and Musa Mulundika.
Others include James Mwenda, Simon Mwale, Chela Silwamba, Reverend Florence Munyenyembe, and Novious Tembo.
“His Excellency has further appointed eight members of the technical committee who will look into the day to day running of the National House of Prayer. The members of the technical committee are Brigadier General Bishop Vincent Mwenya, Chaplain General of the defence forces who is also the chairperson, Colonel Father Eugene Nyambe (vice chairperson), Colonel Reverend Henry Matifeyo (secretary) and Lieutenant Colonel Reverend Hendrix Moma who is a member,” Dr Msiska stated.
“The other members include Bishop David Nama, Lieutenant Colonel Reverend Tomothy Chipyoka, Major Reverend Bossy Nkhoma and Major Reverend Judith Mutale.”
Dr Msiska stated that members of the public, the private sector and faith based organizations were encouraged to make donations towards the construction of the National House of Prayer by depositing money in the recently opened account number 1996712300387 at the Zambia National Commercial Lusaka Business Centre Branch.
