Benos, brother still await committal to High Court

INSTRUCTIONS to commit to the High Court a case in which Lusaka woman Tshiabu Benos allegedly stabbed prominent businessman Reeves Malambo to death are not yet ready.

Benos has been appearing before magistrate Albert Mwaba for mention after the murder charge was explained to her and her brother Mumbi Mutanuka.

When the case came up on Monday, the prosecution informed the court that the instructions were not ready.

Magistrate Mwaba has since adjourned the case to March 20 for another mention.

In this case, Benos, 37 is jointly charged with Mutanuka, 32 for murder, a charge which is only tried in the High Court.

It is alleged that the duo between January 29 and 30 this year, jointly and whilst acting together murdered Malambo.

Benos, Malambo’s girlfriend, allegedly stabbed him during a fight and later rushed him to Hill Top Hospital where he died.
