30 Sustain Injuries After Bus Collision .
THIRTY people have sustained injuries in a road traffic accident in Nakonde after two Copperbelt- bound public passenger buses collided on the Great North Road.
Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) head of public relations Fredrick Mubanga said in a statement that the accident involving a Juldan Motors bus and Jarazu Coach Services bus happened on Monday around 14: 00 hours.
“ The accident happened after Mr Chizu Mwikisa, the driver of the Juldan Motors bus with a trailer laden with goods, overtook the Jarazu Coach Services bus without care and misjudged the distance of an oncoming truck. After seeing the oncoming truck, Mr Chizu tried to go back to his lane and cut in front of the Jarazu Coach Services bus but the trailer hit into the bus,” Mr Mubanga said He said the Juldan Motors bus overturned resulting in 30 passengers from the two buses, including Mr Mwikisa, sustaining injuries.
