24 People Die In Wada Chovu Bus Collision.

POLICE have disclosed that 24 people have died in a road traffic accident involving a Wada Chovu Bus and a mini bus near Manyumbi toll gate.

Police spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda in a statement stated that the number of people who have died in the accident at Manyumbi is 24.

Police have also revealed that the driver of the Wada Chovu was at fault as he failed to keep to his lane in the process hit into the minibus which was coming from the opposite direction, killing all the passangers who were in the minibus including the driver who died on the spot.

Police spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda in a statement stated the accident involving wada chovu bus happened today between Luashimba and Manyumbi around 09 hrs.

She added that the Scania Marcopollo bus Reg No AJB 6340 was coming from the Copperbelt to Lusaka while the Benz Minibus Reg No ACZ 4829 was coming from Kabwe.

“The driver of the Marcopollo failed to keep to his lane in the process hit into the minibus which was coming from the opposite direction. All the passangers who were in the minibus including the driver died on the spot. We are still waiting for the number of the injured,”Mrs. Munganga-Chanda stated.

She stated that the bodies are lying in Kabwe hospital mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.

“The driver of the Wanda Chova bus is among the injured and is admitted to Kabwe general hospital,”Mrs. Munganga-Chanda stated.
