2015 Grade 12 Results Show Only 57 % Obtained Full Certificates
Its that time of the year when High school leavers await for that one paper that might decide what their fate might be.
Last year a total amount of 71, 702 candidates of the 125, 602 that sat for the Grade 12 exams have managed to attain full Grade 12 certificates.
Out of the 125,602 a total of 49, 302 pupils managed to walk away with General Certificate of Education.
According to statistics, there has been an observed 1.8 per cent increase in the overall performance as compared to 2014.
General Education Minister John Phiri yesterday said the total candidates who sat for the exams 4, 652 failed representing 3.5 per cent of the pupils who did not obtain any certificate.
Dr Phiri said of the total number of candidates 56,578 were girls and 69,108 were boys.
Eastern Province produced the highest with a pass rate of 71 per cent while Copperbelt produced the list at a pass rate of 44.5 per cent.
He said with Southern 69.9 per cent, Muchinga 63. 6 per cent and Lusaka 62 per cent were in the top half.
